what you leave behind is how you will be measured
There have always been Swallows at Stone Circle Livery. Swooping in and out of the stable doors and rising high in the sky above the yard. Over the years, our conservation work and organic practices have led to an increase in wild flowers and the natural habitat for insects. These insects provide a valuable food source for the Swallows. The increase in insects has seen an increase in the Swallows and the new stable block has provided them with excellent nesting.
We feel there is no other bird that marks the seasons so well as the Swallow and when they arrive we know summer is well on the way. The live camera you can see here is sited in the stables on one of the nests so you can watch the whole cycle from nest, to egg to chicks to young birds – live. The camera is a little close in its focal length to the nest so it is a little on the close-up side. We’ll move the camera to a better location for next year once the chicks have flown the nest.
